Canada has long been a popular destination for many international students and young adventure seekers from around the world. Each year thousands of people take advantage of the IEC (Working Holiday Program), SAWP (Seasonal Agricultural Worker Program), Temporary Foreign Worker Visa and Study Permits. Working in Canada offers international work experience and amazing travel opportunities. It allows individuals to grow their professional network, expand their skills and make new friends.
We have a few different programs for you to choose from depending on the type of job you are looking for, your experience, the length of time you want to work in Canada, your personal interests and eligibility.
When looking to go on the program, you can select between three different program options: Resort, Farming, or Work & Study
Farming is a thriving industry throughout Canada. Farm work and fruit picking has also become a trend among young adult travelers.
It’s a great opportunity to earn a lot of money in a short amount time, meet other international like-minded people, make new friends and travel.
Our Farm Employers offer full-time seasonal jobs (April – November). The types of jobs include general farm worker, farm technician, greenhouse worker, equipment manager, rancher, production, and many more.
Take advantage of the Canadian Study Permit to expand your education and gain valuable work experience. With our partner, Tamwood Careers, you will study in your desired field, gain work experience in Canada, make strategic connections in your industry, and develop skills to enhance your resume and launch your career.
You will be taught by instructors and guest speakers with real-world knowledge. Through Tamwood, you can also apply for admission with advanced standing to one of their academic pathway partners. Upon completion of your program at the pathway partner college/university, you will be eligible for a Post-Graduate Work Permit.
You can also earn money while you study to help with living expenses. No matter which program you’re in, your Canadian study permit will allow you to work part-time (up to 20 hours per week) while studying and full-time in your Co-Op work term. Tamwood Careers offers workshops, hiring fairs, and tools to assist you in finding a job.
If you elect the Work & Study Program Option, you can also chose from a variety of diploma and certificate programs. The programs are offered in Toronto, Vancouver or Whistler and run 27 or 48 weeks in length depending on the program you choose.

Additional requirements for the Work & Study Option
The benefits of going with CCUSA are endless, but here are just a few highlights.
CCUSA will provide a detailed Pre-departure orientation with you a few days prior to your departure. CCUSA will provide you detailed instructions on obtaining your Social Insurance Number and opening a Canadian bank account. From there, you will be given travel instructions to your final destination.
Either your employer or Work Adventures Canada (WAC) will help you find accommodations during your contract. Many employers accustomed to hiring Temporary Foreign Workers usually provide staff housing for a small fee. If studying in Canada, you will have the options of homestay, single or double occupancy dormitory or shared apartment.
CCUSA’s licensed Canadian Immigration Attorney, Tamwood and/or your new Canadian employer will assist you with applying for the appropriate visa for working and/or studying in Canada. The visa process will depend on the job, location and type you will be applying for, but you will be directed every step of the way.
You are responsible for making your own travel arrangements to Canada. Your local CCUSA office will assist you in making your arrangements if needed.
You are required to obtain comprehensive travel insurance for the entire duration of your stay. Your Canadian Study Permit/Work Permit dates will match the exact dates of your insurance coverage when you enter Canada. You have the option of purchasing a CCUSA Insurance Plan, so you are safely covered while you are travelling and working in Canada. The fees involved vary based on length and type of coverage you choose. Check with your CCUSA office for more details.
CCUSA will offer support and resources through every step of the process. You will have access to our WAC private social media groups to keep you connected with WAC participants all over the world and in Canada. You will have access to our exclusive interview, job hunting and resume tips to give you the competitive edge needed to get the job you want. You will have a number to call that gives you 24/7 support in case of emergencies or for just ordinary questions. You will never feel alone!

Applications are accepted year-round. You must apply to CCUSA at least 12 – 16 weeks prior to your anticipated program start date.
For our Farm Program, we are fortunate to partner with a group of exciting farms throughout Canada who trust and welcome our international staff. You are given the opportunity to learn about our farms, their locations, and the jobs they are offering during the application process. Job availability depends on the season and size of the farm. We recommend you apply to Work Adventures Canada early to ensure you get the job you want.
